Bordell l’amour
I am still surprised I came here. It feels like admitting that something just isn’t right with my life. The place is hidden from plain sight, which is good otherwise I would probably chicken out.
A small underground bar welcomes guests. There is just one middle-aged guy in a decent suit selling overpriced drinks. I grab a beer and walk further in. The next room is full of screens. On one of them, there is a young couple kissing, on another is a woman with a dog cuddling with her. Plenty of choices for me.
I select the first kiss. The romance of the beginning is what I have been missing. Here I will go through it again.
The performance
Bordell l’amour, the place for you if you feel lack of love in your life. The brothel without sex but with love. An interactive theatre deepening the experience of the audience by dragging them deeper in.
In this dramatic piece, you will get to experience three different types of love. Which ones? Your preference, the fate and the performers decide. You will experience the love during short one on one scenes with the actors. In-between the scenes you will learn more about love.
Once everyone has been through their love scenes the actors disappear and reappears a few moments later on the stage. The three stories touch love in its different forms.
Conclusion
I must admit that the form of interactive theatre is one of my most favourite alongside LARP. As such I loved the middle part. The one to one interactions with the actors were really good.
I loved the mechanic for the first kiss. We had a small piece of glass which either of us could take and put somewhere on the other one's body and kiss the glass as if we were kissing the other person. Definitely a useful mechanic I would like to try in some LARP.
I was quite surprised by unexpected massage I received in one type of love and the weakest for me was the beginning of the romance with writing about each other and put lives but even this one was still quite entertaining.
The selection of the love in the beginning and the plays, in the end, was for me quite mediocre. I would have preferred the whole play to be without these parts and shorter.
